A stunning flawless VS1 Golden Beryl Heliodor from the famous and now closed Xia or Chia Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This mine ceased production in 2006.
This is referred to as Golden Beryl Heliodor because of its bright yellow color. Heliodor has a more olive green color hue to it. This is a rare high grade Golden Beryl. This is because this gem is from a famous and now closed mine as well as for its size and clarity. Beryl tends to fracture rather easily due to its cleavage. The larger the gemstone the more likely the fractures and or inclusions.

Although I was told it was not treated I suspect that it could have been heated to increase the clarity. The yellow color saturation is naturally occurring. It has no noticeable indication of being irradiated.
