A fine and highly desirable antique Haviland & Co. Limoges France water or beverage pitcher; pattern is Schleiger 87D; wonderful lobed and tapered shape with scalloped base and upper rim; scrolled handle; finely decorated and gilded; height to top of lip is 8.25 inches; diameter of the base is 6.75 inches; it appears to be virtually perfect, exhibiting no wear, stains, damage or repairs; fully marked on underside of base; the Schleiger 87D pattern is one of the most collected and coveted patterns produced by Haviland, exhibiting exceptional artistic detail in the long stem pink roses and sprigs of lavender flowers; the gilding details are particularly fine.
