When I look at this Vintage Painting of a Schooner, I feel calm. The warm yellow colors and the obviously calm sea has the schooner catching a gentle breeze at sundown. A sense of relaxation must be washing over all those on the schooner about this hour.
The artist, signed Kulas, has evoked a sense of calmness. The sea is so calm, the artist has painted in a large reflection of the boat on the surface of the water. I like how they painted the shadow of the unseen sails behind the visible sails, nice touch. And there’s something soothing about her color choices for the water, with blues, greens, browns, and some whites.
This painting could easily be a centerpiece or placed aside other art. It’s a very popular Mid-Century subject (ships at sea). It measures 17 x 21 framed.
